Company history: Over 10 years of innovation in insurance

2009

Ineas continued to improve its customer services providing enhanced convenience and control via its mobile technology platform. In its 4 countries, Ineas customers can now access their policy and personal insurance details, notify a claim and follow the progress of a claim any time, any where from their mobile phone. These customer friendly functionalities once again confirm the status of Ineas as a pioneer in innovative services. This was recognized by Ineas being awarded the “Argus d’Or de l’Innovation” a prestigious prize given by the French insurance industry.

2008

The company’s first full year in the Spanish motor market was a success in building a team and selling and servicing the first wave of customers. In France Ineas won the prestigious Grand Prix Tribulis Innovation Web 2008 for its mobile initiatives and 5 days mobile product. A new version of the XPRS mobile application integrating web and mobile services and for the iPhone, was launched in Germany and Spain.

2007

Ineas continues to innovate and launched the first car insurance policy that can be purchased via the mobile phone under the XPRS® brand. Ineas also opened its Barcelona office with the intention to launch its car insurance product for Spain.

2006

Ineas platform exceeded the 1000 policies per day mark, originating from 4 countries. Further strengthening of systems and rating engine allowed the company to achieve good underwriting results. Ineas received a license to also operate in Spain.

2005

Ineas successfully delivered its unique web-based insurance platform for a new UK insurance initiative, Swiftcover, which was voted best general insurance website of the year. Ineas’s technology team implemented the platform in less than 6 months for a successful launch. In the Netherlands Ineas co-insured the automobile business with Allianz and AXA.

2003-2004

Ineas Insurance Agency was established and started a new brand for women drivers in Germany: LadyCarOnline. In France distribution partnerships were concluded with several insurance companies and brokers.

2002

Achieved 25.000 customers with over 300 policies sold on a single day coming from four countries. Further improvements were made on pricing and segmentation, management reporting and optimizing claims processes, to support increasing future volumes.

2001

Whilst building its organization, recruiting international staff and developing the network of partner-suppliers, much work was done on strengthening the systems. The company reached the 10.000 motor policies mark and introduced WAP services. Customer satisfaction was shown through an exceptionally high renewal rate.

2000

France was added to the list of countries. At the Paris automobile show Ineas introduced itself to the French public. It connected seamlessly to a growing number of insurance and automobile portals. It was one of the first Google advertisers.

1999

Ineas sold its first policies in Holland and Germany. As the first pure online insurer it continued to develop its cross-border platform, offering innovative services such as an online insurance quoting and buying process, a Private Domain to manage all policies and unique online claims tracking.

1998

Ineas Insurance Company NV was granted its license as an insurance company for all lines of non-life insurance products, based on a unique web based business plan, which allowed the company to sell insurance over the internet in Holland and Germany.

1997

Ineas was created by Niek Ligtelijn, an international insurance executive. His goal: create a pan-European insurance group. The company was founded on the principles of the EU single market opportunity and on the use of new technology where possible. He received funding from SwissRe and other institutional investors and started building the company from scratch.
