Online Insurer Ineas Provides Optimal User Guidance on Their Web Site
Amsterdam, 20 March 2001 - Ineas Insurance Company N.V., Europe's first online insurer, gives their customers extraordinary support when making buying decisions online. This is the result of a Europe-wide survey in the field of financing services by Tillinghast-Towers Perrin Management Consultants. Tillinghast surveyed the following theory: The more features having a direct influence on the buying decision of a client that an e-commerce provider integrates on their web site, the more consumers are inclined to buy. To prove this theory, Tillinghast analyzed the web sites of 30 online financing services in Europe. Ineas was scored above average in all fields and reached no. 2 on the European list. In the Netherlands Ineas was at the top of the list.
As to the category "information content", Ineas achieved a far above average result. In this category the user learns everything about the products, the company itself, and about prevention measures. Consequently, the customers have all the information at hand required to do a sound transaction. Tillinghast assessed the way Ineas implements customer orientation on their web site proves an excellent solution, also the opportunity to consider the customer's individual situation when calculating the insurance premium is very good.
Tillinghast-Towers Perrin's goal was to prove that there is a relation between purchase supporting features and the efficiency of the financing sector web sites. There were 16 factors providing indications about supporting a customer's buying decision - among them, components which are being used successfully for the online selling of books and CD's. Among other things features such as the amount of information, the shopping experience, the possibility to contact the company, and the efficiency of advice were surveyed. The survey was conducted by the University of Amsterdam.
During the survey further decisive features were identified on the Ineas web site:
